American Heartsaver® First Aid and Poison Help® Control Workshop in October Beckie Doyle, Health Educator for the Oklahoma State Department of Health, encourages area residents and families to attend a free American Heartsaver® First Aid and Poison Help® Control Workshop in October at the Library Annex. ?Halloween Tips will be presented that will address prevention of accidental poisonings,? shared Doyle. ?We?ll also discuss Lifesaving Skills, What?s Poison in Your Purse? and Common Myths Debunked.? ?We will also have free First Aid Kits available for attendees,? Doyle continued. ?The Oklahoma State Department of Health feels every home should have access to basic first aid supplies.? The first 25 participants will receive a First Aid Kit. ?We will also have special treats for the kids,? added Melissa M. Struttmann, Executive Director of Creek County Literacy Program. This free American Heartsaver® First Aid and Poison Help® Control Workshop is Thursday, October 24, 5:30pm in the Library Annex, 15 North Poplar Street in Sapulpa. Refreshments and snacks will be served. There will be door prizes and free books and goodies for children. This free workshop is open to the public, children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited. More than 400,000 Oklahoma adults are functionally illiterate.
